This topic is disturbing. Anyone who wants to kill an animal is fucked in the brain.
The person wouldn't have to enjoy killing the puppy, but what if you were offered a million dollars. That money could be used to save the lives of many other puppies, not to mention human beings.
You would be selling your humanity and nothing would make it justifiable.
Nothing? I think it would be selfish to refuse to kill the puppy if it would save the life of a human being. How do you figure that this would the person would be sacrificing his humanity?
Is a human life more valuable than a canine life?
^^ As a human, yes.
Yes, I see what you mean - my answer was on the basis of an exchange of money, rather than on more complex issues such as a threat to a person's life - that wouldn't be quite as straightforward.
That's a good question (about the value of human vs. canine life). I'd say that yes, humans are more valuable than animals because of our ability to love. I believe that God gave humans dominion over the earth, but not so we could ravage it.

So, only humans are capable of love?
I think it is very interesting how each person assigns a value to the life of other organisms, people have such unique parameters by which life is deemed more or less important.
@ Skrrrriti
I'd say that yes, only humans are capable of love. I guess each person's answer to this question depends on how one defines love... using those unique parameters...
@ savage: that's bullshit.
@ the rest of this discussion: if this offer was real, and on the table, then SOMEone's going to go for it, right? At press time four (4) Grupies are willing to kill this puppy for a "G." (God knows what else they'd do. Christ.) So it'd be logical to conclude that were this an actual offer, then it's already a wrap. The dog will die. So if this is known, that the dog will perish, and you know this, I think the question is whether or not it is wrong to personally profit from this inevitability. Me, I don't have the stomach for it, but I don't care what I won't do.
(in b4 tl;dr)
@ TDH -- How so?
I think that the deal in this hypothetical situation is that a puppy is provided for anyone willing to kill it. Who provides the puppies? Where do they get the money? Not important. Also, money does not necessarily equal personal profit. A lot of things can be done with money... good things too... things to benefit PUPPIES even.
but the puppy is so... cute!! ^_^
