This is the new Vietnam

#3
This war is the new Vietnam; Not enough troops, too much ground, and not enough support at home. Snipers are finally bieng employed right, but that alone can't win the war. This war breaks the first rule of attacking in the art of war "when you attack, be like lightining from the sky" The longer we stay with a ow troop count, the more we fuck it up. You must understand, there is no war the American Military cannot win. The war is that of the People, and right now, we're losing.

We aren't going to win it. Iraq will win or lose it.

#4
It is up to them. Though we may have helped them get to were they were, and where they are. They will need to get there themselves.

Mission Accomplished a while back.

USA Army rolled over the Iraqi army like warm butter. Splat. The "war" was "won" within a few days.

Can "we" really win this war

#7
Is this war really something that can be won, even if it ends there will be families on both sides who will sufer from loss. These family members may forever hold hate and be encouraged to act on it in later years. Who wins!!!????!!???

There's always the "Over in microseconds" option

#8
It might cause other problems, but it would end the war in Iraq really really quickly

Yes, if we use 'Bacon bombs'

#9
Fill a bunch of bombs with bacon and pigs blood, bomb them, let them figure out there is bacon all over them and have them kill themselves.

We cannot win without a clear definition of victory.

#10
To win anything, you need a clearly defined, verifiable goal. To date, I haven't heard our leaders express this.

In what way do you mean "win." Stable Government? No Terrorism? More Oil Output? Spread of Democracy? No Civil War? All of these? More?

I mean a government that is stable and democratic enough to greatly reduce the US troop levels. I doubt we'll ever leave entirely.

I certainly wouldn't call perpetual US involvement "success" by ANY stretch of the imagination. As a matter of fact, that may even be my definition of absolute, miserable failure.

And moving on from "win" - winnable by who? The US? Iraq? Someone else?

The war won't be won...it was unjust from its very beginings..WMD???

Anything taken by force must be kept by force..It is the Iraqi peoples oil, not the american govt's and at the end of the day that is what this is all about isn't it..OIL..so much for pointing out the obvious.

as i get older i can't help but think how much the U.S. and its citizens have their head up there ass..the U.S. gov't and its citizens are in obnoxiously excessive debt, the U.S. military is involved in a war that costs billions of dollars a day..the countrys sciene and engineering achievements are steadly losing ground to up and coming asian countries like India and china.

The Soviet Union went into debt and collapsed....right after its 9 yr war the mujahideen in afghanistan

the u.s. needs a more progressive minded person in the whitehouse..

Chappelle Show the Lost Episodes comes out July 9th...sweet louise

You know, i remember when we went into the middle East just a few years ago, I thought there was another country that we went in to to invade. I'm really sure there was, but I just can't remeber it's name.. Ah hell, I'll just go watch Fox News and Drink.

not to really poke holes in the argument, but just because a war is "unjust" doesn't mean it's "unwinnable"
