What are your moral and ethical criteria for spending money?

In a capitalist society, every dollar you spend is very literally a vote for the ethics and values of the company you are choosing to do business with - Some would even say that these micro-votes are even more effective and important than the ones you cast for politicians.

With this in mind, what are your moral and ethical criteria for spending money? In other words, which stipulations do your purchases rest upon?
