personal piccies of this will be very difficult for me, but i will be dilingent in searching.
What camera are you using?
my nikon coolpix s1- hard to get photos of frozen things when it's 70 or 80.
Are you south of me? Can't remember which direction...
yep.
suburban houston.
it's balmy, even humid and 72 right now.
That's what I thought. Well, it'll come sooner or later. The cold front's pushing through Austin right now (although it'll only get down into the 40's.)
But, I used to live in NW Houston area -- near Compaq. I remember one winter it got so cold it froze the pipes in my laundry room. I foolishly tried to use a propane torch to thaw them out. Instead, I set the wall on fire. Not smart.
a pic of an ice cream cone might be accepted in your case :-)
The pics I posted in this topic were taken last winter on a Christmas visit to Indiana. It was bitter cold, iirc.
i think an ice cream i can do.
it hardly ever freezes on the south side of I-10. it was 31 last week, but then it got back to 75 in the afternoon. typical winter weather.
it snowed here a couple of christmas eve's ago. we sometimes have cold weather, but it doesn't last.
it's been a long time since i've been anywhere near compaq. i used to dirve to tomball a lot, and many moons ago i worked across the street from willowbrook mall.
i can't wait for the cold front. the air's off cos it's ridiculous to have the air on in december, but i need the fan cos it's nearly 80 inside.
nice one, setting the wall on fire!
shame is wasn't a DOOR
I lived near Louetta and SH249. Lakewood estates I think it was called. That was in the late 80's and early 90's. And Willowbrook was a short drive... I went there from time to time.
And Hobbit, why would the door have been better than the wall? Actually, it's easier to replace a door...
oh man... the The Doors sang, common baby light my fire....
i worked at a montessori by willowbrook (that i think is still there) in 1991 - 1992.
my sister worked at glamnour shots in the mall. ha!
i haven't been on 249 since they made it into a 4 lane divided highway. it's at least an hour from here.
I know the school you're describing. We were probably within stone-throwing distance from each other on numerous occasions.
But I never got a glamour shot, alas.
(cue music) ... ⪠it's a small worldâª
i hated working there - for the record.
:D
and we didn't even know it then.
Hobbit: Nice random stream of conciousness. Frozen pipes = burning wall = light my fire = Doors = burning door.
Very good!
gives you an idea how I tick :)
Now, I gotta ask: Did anybody look at my freezing stream with leaves & rocks picture? It didn't even merit a ho hum.
oh, I thought this was a chat room... just for you...
i did - i thought it was nice. i went to bed - sorry.
MDA's chatroom. that's what you should rename your "poll".
